So you know how you have to take your kids to school in the morning and everything is crazy and you just throw on whatever, barely manage to brush your teeth, forget about the hair and makeup, in fact you just might get away with your PJs and a big coat and out the door you go, telling yourself that noone will see you and then you can scuttle back home and get ready properly.Only we all know it doesnt't work out this way. The glam squad are all there ( you know like the mean popular clique of girls that made you feel like poop when you were at school, only now they are grown up, have more money and somehow manage to get a blow out before 8 am in the morning ! Give me a break!), but who cares, just drop of the kids and you will be off....until the teacher wants a word with you, or you forgot about a little celebration you have to stay for , or one of the mums tells you they are all going for coffee , and would you like to join EVERYONE???
So this was me for the best part of last year when my son started junior school and after a series of embarassing instances I realised I needed to get it together. I am not a morning person and like to take my time getting ready, but looking like a bedraggled bag lady in front of the class teacher is not a good look. So how can you look great for the school run. the coffee run or any rushed thing you have to do on any given morning? The key is to have a few easy basics to fall back on that will make you look effortlessy put together in a matter of minutes. As a friend of mine said , it takes longer to put on sweatpants and trainers than it does to slip into a dress and pumps....too true.
So this is a guide for lazybums like me...don't get caught out again and you seriously don't need the blow out...just you know , make sure you brush your hair...

Leather trousers always make you look cool and a structured bag adds polish to the look. You don't need a full face in the morning, there is such a thing as too much but some tinted moisturiser and lipstick will make all the difference and will give you a fresh look.

A floral dress can go from frumpy to bang on with a belted coat and and an IT bag, and don't forget the sunglasses, the glamour squad will be in awe!
You can swap the coat for a parka or leather biker for a maore casual look and the loafers for booties.Putting in a little effort will make you feel better and put a spring in your step and best of all...Your kids will be proud !!
